Stock-Index Futures Slip; Caterpillar, Wal-Mart Decline July 5 (Bloomberg) - U.S.

stock-index futures declined as oil rose above $59 a barrel in New York.

Caterpillar Inc.

and Alcoa Inc.

shares slipped in Europe.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

dropped as the world's largest retailer announced it will cut jobs in the U.K.

Standard & Poor's 500 Index futures expiring in September lost 3.5 to 1196.50 as of 11:58 a.m.

in London.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures fell 23 to 10,310, and Nasdaq-100 Index futures dropped 5.5 to 1495.

U.S.

markets were closed yesterday for Independence Day.
