(NYSE:LLY) is reporting an 84 percent increase in first quarter earnings per share, beating Wall Street estimates.

Sales rose four percent.

The company credits stronger sales of newer products for the results.

Lilly also announced that it expects second quarter earnings to be below Wall Street estimates.
