Enzastaurin, an investigational, targeted, oral agent, will be evaluated at more than 100 sites worldwide for the treatment of relapsed glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), an aggressive and malignant form of brain cancer.

Millennium Pharmaceuticals and Johnson & Johnson have initiated a phase II trial of Velcade in combination with pemetrexed in non small lung cancer (NSCLC).

Although Velcade's performance in this indication has been impressive so far, the NSCLC market is becoming increasingly crowded with targeted therapies, which could hinder Velcade's uptake.

Advertisement The trial will study the effects of Velcade (bortezomib) in patients with NSCLC who have failed prior chemotherapy.
