A non-smoker, she learned last year she has lung cancer.ALEXA WELCH EDLUND/TIMES-DISPATCH An after-school outing to a Petersburg bowling alley last month was Tiffanie Dixon's reward to son Robert, 7, for bringing home a good report card. He got B's and C's on his first report card this school year, better grades than last year, Dixon said. The past year, she explained, was rough on him. "He did not know what was going on," she said. What has been going on is something Tiffanie Dixon and her family and friends are all struggling to understand. In April 2003, Tiffanie Dixon, then just 25, was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. "It wasn't real," said Kim Dixon, Tiffanie Dixon's mother.
